1. Is it compulsory for a private limited company in Singapore to have a local registered office address?

Yes, a registered office address is required in Private Limited Company registration. It is mandatory for every company registered in Singapore to have a physical address and cannot be a Post Office Box (PO Box).

Residential addresses can be used as a business address under the Home Office Scheme. However, prior approval from the Housing Development Board (for HDB flats) or Urban Redevelopment Authority (for private properties) must be obtained in order to use residential premises (owned or rented) for home office use.

2. Whom Should I Inform Regarding a Change of Registered Office Address and How Should I Do It?

  • MOM – Should you have an EP online account, you can submit the change of address online
  • ACRA – To be lodged by the company officer or its appointed registered filing agent
  • CPF – Should you have CPF account, you can submit the change of address online
  • IRAS – No update is required as it is updated automatically and linked to your ACRA records
  • Bank – You can visit any branch office of your bank to complete and submit their form for the change of address.
