Since January 2024, the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) has been notifying position holders (such as the directors, company secretaries, managers and partners) in companies and Limited Liability Partnerships via email to file their Annual Returns (AR)/Annual Declarations (AD) on time. This is to help entities meet their compliance deadlines and avoid penalties for late or non-filing.
The move is in response to requests from entities to remind them of their compliance deadlines. ACRA will send email reminders approximately 3 months before the AR or AD is due. Position holders should update their email addresses with ACRA on the Bizfile+ portal if they do not receive any reminder from ACRA.
To ensure data security and protect against scams, ACRA advises office holders to ensure that the email is from ACRA’s official email address, which is acra_bizfile@acra.gov.sg. ACRA will not request personal information or login credentials in the notification emails.
For ease of reference, the following table shows the compliance requirements for AR/AD filing.
